A trip to Disney with Preferred Guest Resorts is a dream vacation for families of all sizes, and one that many of us save up for over a considerable period. After expenses are considered for transportation, lodging, dining and park admissions, it is a relief to have activities on the agenda that cost nothing. Preferred Guest Resorts sought out to find the best free activities for you and your family to enjoy during your next Disney vacation. The best part? All the activities Preferred Guest Resorts found occur daily, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on any of them!
Light Up the Night – Perhaps the most famous free Walt Disney World Resort attraction, Happily Ever After concludes each evening with a spectacular show complete with fireworks, animation, pyrotechnics and music. Before the Happily Ever After grand finale, Preferred Guest Resorts travelers are treated to the 15-minute Electrical Water Pageant – a beautiful display of lighted floats that parade across the lagoon. Travelers can check their resort for Electrical Water Pageant show times based on their location, and afterwards head over to the Magic Kingdom entrance for the Happily Ever After grand finale.
Take a Trip to Africa – One of the many amazing things about Walt Disney World Resort is that you can take a trip into the African wilderness without ever leaving Florida. Included with your admission to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a safari ride through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve; a 110-acre wildlife preserve dedicated to protecting over 34 species of African wildlife. Hop aboard one of the open-air safari buses with your tour guide and learn about the animals and their home. You’ll see crocodiles, zebras, elephants, and even the critically endangered white rhino (to name just a few) in their natural habitat. After taking the safari during the day, come back in the evening to experience it all over again – you’ll likely see some animals that you didn’t see during the day excursion come out at night!
Ride the Monorail – The Walt Disney World Resort Monorail has been in operation for over 45 years, and it’s a can’t miss attraction for Preferred Guest Resorts guests on a Disney vacation. The Monorail operates on three lines with six monorail stations throughout Disney. The nearly 15-mile track provides transportation between parks and leisurely sightseeing rides to over 150,000 Disney guests each day. Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort guests enjoy Monorail access right at their resort!
Walt Disney World Water Transportation – Disney’s water taxis are a wonderful way to get from resort to resort, but they can also make for a relaxing cruise on the picturesque Disney lakes and lagoons. You can catch one of the beautiful boats every 15-30 minutes at launch points throughout Magic Kingdom park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs.
Be a Cowboy – Preferred Guest Resorts horse lovers won’t want to miss a trip to Disney’s Tri-Circle-D Ranch. The ranch is home to Cinderella’s ponies, and the stately steeds that parade down Main Street, USA. Also residing at the ranch are Arabians, Clydesdales, Percherons and Shetland ponies! Visitors of Tri-Circle-D Ranch can watch a blacksmith craft and affix horseshoes and check out the Dragon Calliope – a horse-drawn instrument purchased by Walt Disney in the 1950’s. For an additional fee, visitors can take guided pony, horseback trail, wagon and carriage rides.
Get Your Roast On – At the end of your fun-filled day exploring Disney, head over to The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and join everyone’s favorite chipmunks, Chip ‘N Dale, for some fun under the stars. Bring your own marshmallows and sticks and roast them over the campfire, all while singing along to campfire classics led by a guitar playing cowboy. Stay after the campfire to watch a classic Disney movie – make sure to bring chairs and blankets, or get comfy on one of the benches that are provided.
